ARGENTINA
The Consejo Interuniversitario Nacional (CIN) is a public management and consultancy body created in 1985 that forms the nucleus of Argentine national and provincial universities. Its functions are: to propose and coordinate common policies for universities; to define and coordinate plans and activities in academia, scientific research, and in the management of universities, i.e. in those areas which are related to the organization’s objectives, but do not interfere with the activities that universities agreed to carry out by themselves; and to coordinate organizational policies, especially of members with distinct levels and jurisdictions of education, and also with cultural, scientific research and technical bodies.

BOLIVIA
The ANUP brings together the main universities in Bolivia to improve the quality of education of the institutions that integrate them, strengthen the university system and promote a constructive relationship between public and private universities in their respective region.

The Executive Committee of Bolivian Universities (CEUB) is the Executive Body for coordinating, planning and programming activities that are carried out by Universidad Boliviana. Its work is done in accordance with the decisions of Congress, the National Conferences of Universities, and Higher Education entities. In addition, it acts as a legal representative body before the State. It is responsible for creating editing and publishing books, documents, pamphlets, statistics, inventories, gazettes, bulletins, articles, and other documents related to higher education and university activities.

BRAZIL
The Brazilian Association for Higher Education (FAUBAI) was created in 1988 and regroups 180 international relations directors from Brazilian higher education institutions (HEIs). It works towards the integration and training of international relations managers through conferences, workshops and meetings, and promotes Brazilian HEIs within national and international organizations. FAUBAI aims to improve international exchanges and cooperation as mechanisms for the enhancement of teaching, research, and management of affiliated institutions.

With the joint collaboration of university presidents, the CRUB aims to gather its member universities in order to promote their integration, strengthen their autonomy, and find ways of improving higher education. The CRUB is dedicated to developing activities that are geared towards common themes in Brazilian higher education, namely discussions about university reforms, the National Assessment of Higher Education, scholarship programs, and the training of teachers in basic education.

BCCIE’s purpose is to promote International Education in and for the Province of British Columbia, to promote and enhance BC’s international reputation for education, and to support the International Education activities of the Government of British Columbia. In support of its mandate, BCCIE offers services based in three core areas: Internationalization, Market Support, along with Communication and Professional Development.

Founding of organization of CAIE, CBIE is a national, bilingual, not-for-profit, organization dedicated to the promotion of Canada’s international relations in education, namely the promotion of the free movement of ideas and learners across national boundaries. CBIE promotes the special interests of the international learner – both foreign nationals studying in Canada and Canadians studying abroad. This has been achieved through educational exchanges, scholarships, training awards and internships, technical assistance in education and providing other services.

Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) is the national, voluntary membership organization representing publicly supported colleges, institutes, cegeps and polytechnics in Canada and internationally. Known previously as the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC), CICan continues to champion the innovations, applied research, international development, and the employment or entrepreneurial opportunities that are created by its member institutions and partners all over the world.

Created in 1969, the Fédération des cégeps regroups 48 public institutions of General and Vocational Colleges (Cégeps) in the Canadian province of Quebec. Founded in 1911, Universities Canada is a non-governmental, membership-based organization headquartered in Ottawa. It has 97 public and private not-for-profit Canadian member universities. Universities Canada manages government-funded international partnership programs and grants more than 130 scholarships. For almost 50 years, Universities Canada distributed millions of scholarships to students in order to pursue postsecondary education. It is committed to ensuring that high standards are achieved and maintained in academic programs.

With over 60 years of experience, the CRUCH is conformed by the leading higher education institutions in research and graduate studies in Chile. Also, the Presidents of the 25 public and traditional universities of the country are part of the Council.

The CUECH is committed to the search for truth in a framework of pluralism and tolerance; with national and regional development; with the development of basic science and research according to the parameters of the State. This group, which brings together the eighteen state universities, from Arica to Magallanes, was established as a non-profit corporation on May 13, 1993.
Nowadays, the Consortium has multiple activities tending to support the formation of a system of state universities from the Law that disign them as public universities at the service of the country in the regulatory framework that has established the reform of the Higher Education system.

COLOMBIA
The ASCUN promotes the principles of academic quality, university autonomy and social responsibility, the basis of the university concept; it also fosters the interaction and integration of the academic community and, at the same time, it serves as an interlocutor of the Colombian universities in national and international organizations, in the contexts of definition, implementation and evaluation of public policy for higher education, in order to contribute to the transformation of society and sustainable human development.

CCYK is an initiative of the Universidades Acreditadas de Colombia network that has the support of the Colombian Ministry of Education, Crédito Educativo y Becas en el Exterior (ICETEX), Proexport, Programa Colombia Científica (COLCIENCIAS) and other strategic partners. CCYK has as objective the promotion of Colombia as an academic and scientific collaboration destination. CCYK’s main goals are to promote and disseminate Colombian research, academic and outreach programs abroad, strengthen the internationalization of Universidades Acreditadas de Colombia, study current trends of internationalization and promote quality processes in all Colombian higher education institutions.

The Colombian Network for the Superior Education Internationalization RCI (for its initials in Spanish) is an institutional alliance which promotes internationalization processes for its member institutions and favors the cooperation among them, and from them with the rest of the world.

COSTA RICA
CONARE was established in 1974 and is the body in charge of regulating coordination aspects for the joint exercise of university autonomy in different fields. Its mission is to promote systemic and coordinated action of public higher education institutions, with the aim of optimizing the execution and ensuring the quality of the goals and results of joint activities, and maximizing its contribution to the scientific, economic and social development of Costa Rica.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
ADRU was founded in 1980 as a non-profit association integrating public and private Dominican universities. ADRU’s mission is to promote within national and international institutions and civil society the development of higher education, science and technology, as well as to provide continual improvement of member institutions in the fields of teaching, research, extension, and management. It also fosters the internationalization and integration of member organizations and institutions by promoting academic exchange, self-evaluation, collaboration and inter-institutional support.

GUATEMALA
CSUCA is a regional organization that promotes the integration and strengthening of higher education in the Central American region, in collaboration with civil society and organizations from different regions of the world. Founded in 1967, the Universities Caribbean assembles 37 affiliated universities and supports the regionalization of higher education in the Caribbean. AMPEI is a non-profit national association whose mission is to help strengthen the academic quality of Mexican education institutions through international cooperation. AMPEI receives funding from various organizations that support higher education institutions worldwide, as well as from annual membership dues, carries out various activities related to the training of professionals and academic exchange via workshops, promotion of academic exchange and collaboration between higher education institutions in Mexico and abroad, and research and analysis of management processes of academic exchange activities.

Its mission is to improve teaching, research and the diffusion of culture among its member institutions. The Asociación Paraguaya de Universidades Privadas (APUP) is a non-profit institution that brings together the main private universities of the country. The AUF is one of the largest university associations in the world, with 817 member institutions in 106 countries. It brings together institutions of higher education and research on five continents using French as the language of instruction. It was founded in 1961 in order to establish a cooperation link between the French-language universities, which allowed them to strengthen their exchanges. Its mission is to contribute to developing solidarity between French universities and establishing a scientific area in French, while respecting the diversity of cultures and languages.

CONAHEC, a founding member of the CAIE, advises and connects institutions interested in establishing or strengthening academic collaborative programs in North America. Its core membership is comprised of colleges and universities from Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (OUI – IOHE), a founding organization of the CAIE and in charge of its Executive Secretariat, has a strong presence in the Americas, where it promotes the university exchange for its more than 340 institutions of higher education and member associations.
