Members of the international community are invited to submit proposals for Parallel Sessions and\/or Posters to be a part of the program. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Parallel Sessions&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h2|text_align:center|color:%23ff6600&#8243; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A parallel session is a live forum dedicated to the exchange of ideas on a given topic. The moderator or chair of the session is responsible for introducing the speakers and stimulating the discussion and exchanges between panelists and attendees. We encourage you to present innovative and dynamic proposals.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_accordion][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Format&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1667762094862-21fe4cc3-d083&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A proposal must align with the central theme and\/or sub-themes of the conference,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The session will run for a total of 60 minutes, including<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A 15-minute Q&amp;A period.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The panel must have a minimum of three speakers, where one may also take the role of moderator or <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">else, a panel of three speakers and a moderator without a speaking role.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Elements of the proposal&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1667762094893-5d14983e-6d8f&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>Title <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(max. 15 words).<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><b><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Abstract<\/span> <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(max. 100 words)<\/span><b>: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">General outline of the session, topic(s) that will be addressed and how they relate to the selected conference subtheme.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>Proposal <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(max. 500 words)<\/span><b>: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Detailed description of the session outlining the objectives, content, methodology and target audience. It is important to state how this session is relevant to the audience and the expected takeaways.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Name, institution and contact information of the session chair and\/or moderator.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Name, institution, and contact information of all speakers.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Logistics and audio-visual requirements: <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All presentations will be carried out using our virtual platform. Detailed information will be provided as we approach the event.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><b>Language: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proposals may be submitted, and sessions carried out, in any of the conference\u2019s four official languages: English, Spanish, French or Portuguese.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is important to respect the established parameters (maximum of 15 words for the title, 100 words for the abstract and 500 words for the proposal). The online submission form will not allow longer texts.<\/span><\/i><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Selection Criteria&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1667762094937-ae3a1fb2-aa20&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><b>Relevance to the general theme: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Does the proposal relate in a meaningful way to the main theme and\/or subthemes?<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><b>Innovation and originality: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Is the proposal offering a new perspective or insight on the chosen subject? Sharing insights on a new or ground-breaking program? Presenting evidence on case studies or best- practices?<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><b>Speakers\/Panelists<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Is the proposal being presented by a panel from diverse academic, professional, cultural, or geographic backgrounds? Is there clarity on how the speakers contribute to the overall objective of the session?<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><b>Speakers\u2019 profiles: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are the speakers involved in the field of international academic collaboration? Do their backgrounds or experiences provide an alternative understanding or new knowledge to the field of international education or the themes of the conference?<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Other considerations&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1667762094987-01973177-416f&#8221;][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14px;\">Proposals must align with one of the conference subthemes and bring together a panel with diverse representation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14px;\">Only complete proposals will be accepted and reviewed. Incomplete proposals will not be considered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14px;\">The session chair or moderator will be identified as the main contact and will be responsible for sharing all communications with fellow speakers. Any one of the speakers involved in the proposal may act as chairperson or moderator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14px;\">A diverse panel of speakers from different countries or geographic backgrounds, institutional profiles or sectors represented will be considered an asset.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is possible to submit individual proposals. However, any proposal that does not present a panel of at<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> least three speakers may be merged with another proposal addressing a similar topic.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Conference Secretariat will communicate with the contact persons from each merged proposal to allow for coordination and organization. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Speakers are expected to equally split the allotted time among the merged proposals (i.e., one session with two speakers and a second session with one speaker must be given equal time). It is important to set aside 15 minutes for Q&amp;A \/ discussion.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14px;\">The organizing committee advises all presenters to use their time to deliver their presentation and avoid including institutional information or corporate references that may distract from or compromise their presentation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14px;\">A participant can appear as a speaker or presenter in more than one proposal.
