Avant d\u2019\u00eatre nomm\u00e9 \u00e0 ce poste, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 vice-pr\u00e9sident, Programmes de recherche, et \u00e9tait responsable des programmes Talent, Savoir et Connexion de l\u2019organisme. Il \u00e9tait \u00e9galement responsable du Programme des chaires de recherche du Canada, du Programme des chaires d\u2019excellence en recherche du Canada, du Fonds d\u2019excellence en recherche Apog\u00e9e Canada et du Fonds de soutien \u00e0 la recherche.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avant d\u2019entrer au service du CRSH au mois d\u2019octobre 2009, M. Herbert-Copley a travaill\u00e9 pour le Centre de recherches pour le d\u00e9veloppement international (CRDI), o\u00f9 il a occup\u00e9 divers postes, dont r\u00e9cemment celui de directeur des programmes de politiques sociales et \u00e9conomiques. Il travaillait auparavant au sein de l\u2019Institut Nord-Sud, important centre canadien d\u2019\u00e9tudes et de recherche portant sur des enjeux li\u00e9s au d\u00e9veloppement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ses travaux de recherche ont port\u00e9 sur la compr\u00e9hension du processus d\u2019innovation, de m\u00eame que sur l\u2019impact des politiques gouvernementales \u2013 y compris les r\u00e8glements environnementaux \u2013 sur ce processus. Il s\u2019est \u00e9galement int\u00e9ress\u00e9 aux liens qui existent entre la recherche et les politiques publiques ainsi qu\u2019au r\u00f4le jou\u00e9 par la recherche pour ce qui est d\u2019alimenter le discours public sur les possibilit\u00e9s strat\u00e9giques.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>M.
