POSTERS

Be Part of CAIE-2023

The Conference of the Americas on International Education (CAIE) is organized for the purpose of motivating conversations and inspiring new projects and collaboration initiatives among peer practitioners and decision-makers involved in the internationalization of higher education. Members of the international community are invited to submit proposals for Parallel Sessions and/or Posters to be a part of the program.

Posters

Posters are visual presentations that integrate text and graphics to address a topic, share best practices or present institutional programs. During the poster fair, presenters will have the opportunity to engage other participants in one-on-one discussions around the topics in display.

  1. A proposal must clearly align with the central theme and/or sub-themes of the conference,
  2. The information must be presented on a two-sided, letter-size poster.
  3. Even though text may be included in a poster, the use of graphic elements increases the appeal and renders the information more interesting to other participants.
  4. A poster proposal may be submitted by one or two presenters.

Posters will be displayed for the duration of the event thus increasing the chances of visibility and interaction with other participants. Additionally, each poster will be given the opportunity to make a presentation as part of the academic program.

Title: (max. 10 words).

Abstract: (max. 50 words): General description of the poster, topic(s) being addressed and its relation to the chosen conference subtheme. It is important to state how this poster is relevant to the audience and the expected takeaways.

Draft poster: Preliminary representation of the final poster (letter size, two sides) in .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp or .pdf format. Any proposal that does not meet these requirements will not be taken into consideration.

Name, institution, and contact information of all presenters.

Language: Proposals may be submitted, and presentations carried out in any of the conference’s four official languages: English, Spanish, French or Portuguese.

It is important to respect the established parameters (maximum 10 words for the title, 50 words for the abstract). The online submission form will not allow for longer texts.

Relevance to the general theme: Does the proposal relate in a meaningful way to the main theme and/or subthemes?

Innovation and originality: Is the proposal offering a new perspective or insight on the chosen subject? Sharing insights on a new or ground-breaking program? Presenting evidence on case studies or best- practices?

Speaker profiles: Are the speakers involved in the field of international academic collaboration? Do their backgrounds or experiences provide an alternative understanding or new knowledge to the field of international education or the themes of the conference?

Proposals must align with one of the conference subthemes and bring together a panel with diverse representation.

Only complete proposals will be accepted and reviewed. Incomplete proposals will not be considered.

A participant can appear as a speaker or presenter in more than one proposal. However, it is CAIE policy that any person, regardless of their role, can only participate in one academic activity (session or poster) selected for the program.

We strongly encourage all speakers and presenters to register as soon as possible to secure their presence in the program.
